Food poverty in the UKTalk by Caleb Wooding. Food poverty is an evasive phrase we use when we really want to to talk about hunger, and not hunger as an immediate, just-awaiting-dinner sensation. Hunger as a pervasive and existential state which involves uncertainty as to where food is coming from, and even semi-voluntary fasting to meet other expenses. In my talk I'm going to discuss the shape of food poverty in the UK today, discuss my research into the subject so far, and share some ideas about how to define the food problem, and how to address it.
