Why we can’t trust our senses, Dr Clio Bellenis

01Nov2022

From 19:30 until 21:30

At The Adelphi

3-5 Hunslet Road, Leeds, LS10 1JQ

One of the things we have come to realise as skeptics is that what we see, hear and remember may not always be accurate. They can all be influenced by our expectations. Clio will take us on a fun run through the ways our senses can fool us. She will also touch on how our intuitions about probability can lead us widely astray, and look at why this might matter.

Clio is part of the Winchester Skeptics in the Pub organising committee and is their regular MC. More lately she has also been involved with Skeptics in the Pub – Online. She retired from the NHS where she was a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist, and latterly a clinical director, four years ago and now wonders how she ever managed to fit having a day job into her life.
